Scarface collectors’ package will cost fans of gangster classic $1,000

Die-hard fans of the 1983 gangster classic Scarface who want to buy the ultimate collectors’ package that’s being released this September had better begin saving now.
Priced at $1,000 (Dh3,670) and released in a collectable steel book, the 30th-anniversary deluxe package includes a Blu-ray copy of the film, a documentary called The Scarface Phenomenon detailing the film’s continued influence, behind-the-scenes featurettes, an excerpt from the video game and a scorecard tallying up the number of profanities used and bullets shot.
Also added to the package is the original 1932 film directed by Howard Hawks and starring Paul Muni.
The release’s biggest selling point, however, is the hand-painted humidor crafted out of Spanish cedar and 100 hand-rolled premium Habano cigars.
Fans with more modest budgets can opt for the Scarface: Special Limited Edition Blu-ray edition for $35.
To celebrate the release, Universal Studios has launched an arts contest where fans have the opportunity to design art work based on the film.
The public will vote on the top 10 images, which will become art cards to be included in the Limited Edition Blu-ray release and displayed on a billboard in a major US city.
Starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer, the film follows the life of a Cuban immigrant, Tony Montana, as he claws his way up the ranks of the Miami underworld.
Scarface is listed as one of the top 10 gangster films of all time by the American Film Institute.
